Fabulous

One of my dearest friends used to say

“fill you life with fabulous”

In other words avoid any poisonous thought, relation, situation, but seek for the wonders scattered generouly along the pathway of our life.

Race and climate

When there is a problem in politics there is always someone who has a ready answer. The greater the problems, the less simple and univocal solutions can be found. Think about migration and climate change. They are huge and interconnected issues.

In politics, the problem of migration is dealt with by treating the symptoms or attacking the caravans of migrants – walls, borders, visas or racial hatred – the reasons that cause them are not studied.

In my opinion, climate change is the main cause of migration and possibly of war -think about water shortage. Admitting it would mean bringing a crucial problem to the attention of mankind. Climate change is reducing the living space for mankind. Many areas of the planet are becoming inhospitable and impossible for breeding and crops.

We must wake up from the torpor. Let us not be fooled by stupidity such as racism, borders, visas. The real problem is that the planet is becoming inhospitable. Stop wasting intelligence in hatred and wars. Our intelligences must be used globally to find a model of life that allows us to continue living on Earth. All of us.

For now the rich part of this human world looks elsewhere. It has money and technology that protects us, but ignoring the profound reasons for climate change could cost us a toll we cannot pay.

It this my country?

You may be induced to ask that yourself. You may even say “this is not who we are”. Unfortunately

This is who we are now. A nation whose heart is so constricted by hate it knows no mercy, no love, no empathy, no justice. A heart that will not beat for others cannot beat for itself. A heart so hard is merely a stone. (Quoting D. Anaxagoras)

Write for people who do not read

Right there, there’s your problem.

I know you’d like to reach more people, and most people don’t read.

But if you’re going to write, the only choice you have is to reach people who will choose to engage with you. Do it properly, and there’s a chance that those voluntarily literate people will tell their friends and colleagues.

And of course, the same thing goes for trying to teach people who don’t learn, tell jokes to people who don’t laugh, and campaign to people who don’t vote. It almost always works better if you engage with people who are enrolled in the journey and then motivate them to engage with their peers.

Alive

I am trapped, so unlike the days before the helplessness of modern society, where I was the one who fed my people, where I was free to roam the wilds, dreaming, discovering, thinking, all the while buzzing with joyful energy. But no more, my people to whom I was the providence, they have made their own system, their own food, and left me in the dirt to be alone with my dreams, which shall slowly be forgotten. I am the hunter, the outcast, the dreamer, the creator. I am alive, how could they forget?! But they keep their system, forgetting the old ways from which it was born. I sit at an office and dream of the world, how little I’ve seen, how much I have yet to see, and I die. Not from the world, but those who were once my friends, and how they left us hunters. Alone. Abandoned.

Hard times

Sometimes times are hard. You feel outdated, you feel like your comfort zone is gone and nobody including yourself can do anything to amend this situation. Why ? Why this happens to me? Am I skilled enough to face this challenge?

There are reasons so many reasons for questining yourself. You can benefit a lot from giving yourself truthful answers to questions you have in your mind. It is hard because sometimes you live with the fantasy for so long it become as real as reality. Or sometimes, what seems to be fantasy is really reality. And it is hard for our brain to say what is real and what is not.

Hard times but you can be successful too. Give it a try!

You cannot please everyone

We know this.

Each of us knows it. From experience. From logic. By doing the math. It can’t be done.

Okay, fine.

So, what are you doing about it?

When you’re creating something, are the possible reactions of the people you can’t please weighing you down? And when you inevitably end up disappointing someone, how do you react or respond?

It doesn’t do any good at all to know that you can’t please everyone but not use that knowledge to be bolder, walk lighter and do better work for those you can please.

Gibran

On Children by Kahlil Gibran

Your children are not your children.

They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.

They come through you but not from you,

And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.

You may give them your love but not your thoughts.

For they have their own thoughts.

You may house their bodies but not their souls,

For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,

which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.

You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.

For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.

The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,

and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.

Let your bending in the archer’s hand be for gladness;

For even as He loves the arrow that flies,

so He loves also the bow that is stable.”

is it useful ?

Okay, you know how you feel, what you need, what you want…

This next thing you’re going to do or say: Does it help you get closer to that?

the scavenger

Darkness is full of misteries. As long as you have friends by your side, you shouldn’t be afraid of what you will find. Wether it’s a ghost, a curse, an unexpected truth, or a joke. There is always a lesson and a chance to make things better, once in a while.
